TO MY FB FAMILY AND FRIENDS:

Before even booking an online appointment, please read the attached screen cap from the DFA online appointment system. Those are the people who can just walk in. Included in this list is ALL government employees.

For others who are presumably tourists or who are traveling due to business, prudence dictates that you kindly renew your passport one year before it expires. For those who are first time applicants, with expired passports and whose passports with validity of less than 6 months, please do NOT book anything until your renewed passport is in your hands.

Finally, those with emergencies can appeal their case to DFA. But the emergency contemplated is death in the family or urgent medical attention. Just bring your proof.

The DFA passport system is far from perfect. However, if we really want change in this country, we plead with our citizens NOT to be enablers of corruption by dealing with fixers.

The only way to institute reform is to start with ourselves. No short cuts. Walang palakasan. Play it clean.
